The symbol is the UK's most recognisable and trusted organic mark.
The Soil Association aim to minimise the amount of waste being generated, help conserve natural resources and reduce pollution.
The Soil Association issued new packaging guidelines in August 2006. The standard requires all licensees to minimise the environmental impacts of their packaging by minimizing the amount of materials they use, maximizing the amount of material that can be reused, recycled or composted and by using recycled materials where possible.
